Fatal Accident On Highway 101

Camarillo - A man is dead after two vehicles collided on Highway 101 Wednesday morning.

It happened around 11:40 a.m. on southbound Highway 101 and Pleasant Valley Road.

According to the CHP, Paul Mailhot, 65, of Newbury Park, was driving his Corvette in the fast lane and a Lexus SUV was in the number three lane. Mailhot moved over into the SUV's lane and both vehicles went off the highway onto a farm road. The Corvette landed on its wheels and the Lexus landed on its roof.

The man driving the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene. Mailhot was transported to Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks where he was treated and released for his minor injuries.

The on-ramp from Pleasant Valley Road to go southbound on Highway 101 was shut down for four hours.

The accident on highway is under investigation.

Accident on Highway 195

A car is seen after rolling into a field just south of the Armstrong Road-U.S. Highway 195 intersection during the morning commute, Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, outside Pullman. Firefighters from Whitman County Fire District 12 and a Pullman Fire Department ambulance crew responded to the accident on highway. The driver, the only occupant, was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Southbound lanes open after fatal accident on highway at Muswellbrook

Southbound lanes of the New England Highway are now open, after a fatal accident on highway earlier closed both directions at Thomas Mitchell Drive.

Northbound lanes remain closed and traffic is being diverted via Thomas Mitchell Drive.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area or allow extra travel time.

LEMON GROVE MAN IN CUSTODY FOR DUAL FATALITY ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 125

December 9, 2011 (La Mesa) updated 9:40 p.m.-- Justin Foulds, 39, of Lemon Grove has been arrested for driving under the influence in relation to a fiery accident that killed a man and woman in La Mesa this evening.

According to Officer Brian Pennings with the California Highway Patrol, Foulds was driving a Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Highway 125 at 5:35 p.m. when traffic slowed to about 5 mph.  Foulds struck a Nissan Pathfinder in front of him, propelling it into a Lincoln which in turn struck a Ford F-150.

"The collision caused both the Silverado and thePathfinder to be hooked together," said Officer Pennings.  "According to witnesses, both vehicles became fully engulfed in flames within seconds."  Foulds was able to extricate himself from his vehicle, but a man and woman trapped in the burning Pathfinder died.

The occupants of the Lincoln and  F-150 were not injured.

Highway 125 shut down just south of I-8 following the horrific crash for cleanup and investigation.  Foulds was arrested and booked into the San Diego County Jail.

According to ECM news partner 10 News, Foulds was on his way home from an office holiday party when the accident on highway occurred.

Elderly Couple Killed in Watsonville Accident

WATSONVILLE, Calif- The California Highway Patrol identified the victims of a fatal accident on Highway 129 at Lakeview Drive as an Aromas couple Wednesday afternoon.

According to CHP, the 84-year-old male driver was traveling southbound in his 1997 Dodge Stratus on Lakeview Drive around 3:30 p.m. with his 73-year-old female passenger. He then turned left on Highway 129, head on into an oncoming big rig.

The truck and car finally came to rest in an ag field.

The roadway will be shutdown for a shortwhile to remove the vehicles and bodies.

UPDATE: Driver in critical condition after single-vehicle accident on Highway 19

AIKEN, S.C. -- A driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after an accident on Highway 278 Wednesday morning.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol was called to the single-vehicle accident just after 7 a.m.

Joel Brayboy of Beech Island was driving when he went off the road and struck a tree. He was transported to a local hospital by helicopter with serious injuries. Brayboy is currently listed in critical condition.

New Ellenton Police and Aiken County deputies assisted with the accident, which is still under investigation.

Accident in Limestone County on Highway 72 near Bledsoe Road

Limestone Fire And Rescue crews are on the scene of a two car accident on Highway 72 near Bledsoe Road just west of East Limestone Road. Reports of a two car accident with possible injuries and very slow traffic traveling eastbound on Highway 72.

There is also an accident on Highway 231 in Morgan City. The accident is involving a truck that was hauling a cattle trailer and another vehicle. The accident is in the southbound lanes on top of Brindlee Mountain.
